Rob Fisher, a graduate in the field of electronics, together with his wife Marilyn, share an entrepreneurial spirit, that has lead them to operate their own businesses for most of 29 years. In the past, they have been involved in custom home construction, an automated roof truss plant, and an art gallery/picture framing shop. For 16 years now, they have operated Delta Design Technologies, the Canadian Dealer for Chief Architect™ as well as a residential and commercial design business.
Rob has designed with Chief since version 2.0, and participated as a beta tester of the program, for most of that time. Delta Design Technologies represents Chief Architect™ as the only authorized dealer in Canada; offering knowledge of the building industry, Chief Architect™ product sales, technical support, and training. Rob has demonstrated Chief to various audiences and shown them this "user-friendly" design software is quick and easy to learn and adapt to their specific applications.
Rob keeps abreast of innovative building techniques, new building products useful to his clients, and continually expands his knowledge in the area of home energy efficiency. His ability to use Chief Architect™ software for applications outside
of the "norm" such as a family tree complete
with photos, oil field "tank farm" drawings, and to re-create renderings for demolished structures, show that he is very familiar with the capabilities of the software.
Rob and Marilyn raised their two boys (now adults), on an acreage near Medicine Hat. Their new role as grandparents is very exciting for them, and they enjoy special times with their
twin grandsons. In their spare time, Rob plays hockey and Marilyn paints in watercolors. Together, they spend time at their cabin at Elkwater, in the Cypress Hills Park, about one hour southeast of where they live, relaxing, hiking, boating, cross-country
skiing, and sharing good times with family and friends.
